Randon Lynn Reitz, 69, of New Bethlehem, PA, left this earth peacefully on October 1st, 2024. Born to Ross Reitz and Doris Reitz Thrush in Brookville, PA on September 2nd, 1955, he attended Brookville High School class of ‘73. He had a love of music that carried him through life, starting tuba in high school, continuing through college, and even “running away to join the circus” with the Circus Kingdom band. Randy also sang from a young age, embracing barbershop in ‘85 with the New Bethlehem Chorus, and quartet groups Logical Choice and Shades of Harmony. Randy also had a green thumb that sprouted on his family’s farm, Broad Acres, which turned into studying agronomy at Penn State(class of ‘77). He cultivated his knowledge through the Peace Corps, where he spent four years in Thailand(‘81-’85), finding new ways of agricultural methodology as well as family. His other hobbies included gardening, woodworking, collecting historical woodworking tools, reading, and riding his motorcycle. He constantly spread a charitable hand by attending Clarion First United Methodist, volunteering for many of the church’s work camps and Habitat for Humanity throughout the years. Survived by sons Nathan (and Alexis); Brian (and Alyssa); and Jeremy (and Hannah). Also survived by five siblings; Dawn Williams; Sue(and Robert) Taylor; Janet (and David) Rimm; Harry (and Camielle) Reitz; and Brenda(and Duncan) Beatty. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother David Alan. Known for his quick wit and penchant for a dad joke, Randy’s absurd humor will be something that his family and friends will remember fondly and proudly hope to carry on. They will also remember how devoted a brother, son, father and uncle he was to his large and close-knit family. In keeping with Randy’s loving and generous spirit, it was his decision to donate life so that others may live. The memorial will be held at First United Methodist in Clarion, PA on October 12th. Calling Hours will be 9-11 am with the service at 11am with lunch to follow. If you are able, in honor of Randy's style and humor, please wear your best Tropical shirt. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to a charity.
